Cake Ku — Our Story

Every logo has a story—and this is ours. ❤️

In our family, every big achievement has always been celebrated the same way.

Whenever one of us reaches a milestone, all six of us come together for one big family hug—like a team huddling after a victory. We wrap our arms around each other, form a circle, and jump up and down together.

It’s a little silly. A little chaotic. And completely us.

But more than anything, it’s our way of reminding each other that no accomplishment is ever achieved alone. Every win is shared. Every milestone is worth celebrating. And every celebration is better when we’re together.

That tradition is the heart behind Cake Kú.

Before there was a café, there was our dad, a kitchen, and a passion for creating custom fondant cakes. 

He started baking for birthdays, milestones, and special occasions—turning simple moments into something a little sweeter and creating cakes that became part of other families’ celebrations.

Then there was our mom, who made sure we never lost touch with where we came from.

During COVID, she began making Filipino desserts at home, bringing back the flavours, memories, and traditions we grew up with during a time when gathering together wasn’t possible. Her desserts became a little taste of home—and a reminder of the importance of family.

Even the name Cake Kú has a story.

It was inspired by the Filipino phrase “Cake Ko,” meaning “my cake.” But as our family’s story grew, so did the meaning behind the name.

We chose “Ku” to make it uniquely ours while keeping a little piece of our Filipino roots. Because to us, “my cake” was never really about ownership.

It was about something made personally, lovingly, and with the intention of sharing it.

And that’s what we hope Cake Kú becomes—a place where you can celebrate your wins, gather with the people you love, enjoy flavours that feel like home, and maybe even create a few traditions of your own.

So when you see the name Cake Kú, we hope you see more than just a café.
